Rice fields tour to Tabanan
This is a daytrip containing elements from all our themes: agriculture (focus on rice fields), culture, nature and village life.
Rice fields

Tabanan is know as the ricebarn of Bali and is famous for the beautifully shaped rice terraces. In the center of Tabanan you will see extensive rice fields: the whole area is dominated by growing and harvesting rice. You will make a two hours walk here.
You will pass two small villages along the road and will witness how people live here, far away from the modern city life. Sometimes there is a ceremony going on, which may bring an extra intensive experience to this daytrip if you’re lucky enough to see one.
Local lunch

After the walk, your driver will pick you up and continue the journey deeper into the midlands. Via small and sometimes bad roads you are heading for the local village where a local family has prepared lunch for us. On their yard we enjoy the local lunch.

At arrival there’s a choice of tea, coffee and local Balinese snacks. Feel free to explore the environment and get to know the locals. Your guide can show and explain about local traditions and crops. In the direct environment of the house the family grows coffee and chocolate.

Your guide will explain the difference between Balinese and regular rice: the balinese rice is longer and the seeds stick out above the rice plants. Often one sees this rice bonded together to dry.
